30s skincare

Welcome to your 30s, where fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness start appearing on your face. As you age, your skin undergoes changes such as decreased collagen production, which can lead to wrinkles, sagging, dark circles, puffiness under your eyes, and many more ageing signs. Frustrating right? Above all, every day your mirror will remind you of all the newly occurring problems.

Natural and environmental signs of ageing such as hyperpigmentation and volume loss become more pronounced. You may also experience disrupted hormones or acne due to factors such as pollution or changes in water hardness. The solution for all this lies in simple steps that need to be followed regularly. Well, proper and consistent skin care is key to having amazing skin in your 30s.

Here are some tips to be followed as a skincare routine for 30s

When it comes to skincare, one of the most important things is to be regular and another crucial thing is the type of products you choose. Well, when it comes to products going for the ones with the best reviews as per your skin type is recommended. Today, there are various brands selling natural and non-toxic skincare products that you can definitely try and simultaneously contribute to nature conservation.

Cleansing

Prima Facie, it might appear that the cleansing methods and products for the 30s woman would be similar to the one in her 20s. But this isn’t true because, as collagen starts degrading and makes the skin weak against various environmental aggressors. So, whether you are stepping into your 30s or already in your mid or late 30s, it is crucial to use a gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip off the natural oils from your skin.

Nowadays, the double cleansing method is also in trend. This Korean way of cleansing your skin involves cleansing it twice. First with an oil-based cleanser and then with the water-based one. This way you will remove the dirt, oil, and pollutants deeply from your pores and leave you with a refreshed skin.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation is one such crucial step that you need to include in your skincare. It helps in removing the build-up of dead skin cells that can cause blackheads and clogged pores. Incorporating exfoliation once a week will promote cell turnovers, reduce acne issues, and leave your skin smoother and brighter.

But you need to be cautious while choosing an exfoliator and the wrong one can leave you with redness and irritation. So, it is advisable to go for the non-abrasive ones with ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid.

Here I am listing a few benefits of exfoliation in your 30s:

  • Reduce Blemishes and Breakouts

If you have acne-prone or blemished skin, exfoliating can help. It unclogs pores, simultaneously reducing whiteheads and blackheads.

  • Improve Skin Hydration

Exfoliating removes dead, and flaky skin. After exfoliating, apply moisturizer to the fresh skin cells. This will leave you with better hydration and smoother skin.

  • Boost Blood Flow

Exfoliating improves blood circulation and lymph drainage. This helps reduce cellulite, improve skin elasticity, and provide a healthy glow.

  1. Moisturise Properly

Moisturising your skin is an essential part of your daily skincare routine. But what’s more important is to choose the right moisturiser as per your skin type. To make it a little easier for you, I am sharing a YouTube video that might be helpful for you.

Moisturising your skin not only prevents the dryness but also keeps your skin plump. Especially during the night skincare routine, moisturising well will help you get up with soft, smooth, and plum skin.

Apply a Generous Amount of Sunscreen

Hey! Sun sure is lovely, but too much of it can actually make your skin look older faster. And as already mentioned skincare in the 30s is quite different from 20s.  As you get older, your skin might need more help to stay plump and hydrated. So, on top of sunscreen, you might also want to consider changes to your diet and daily routine to keep your skin glowing!

Sun exposure can lead to early signs of ageing like wrinkles and spots. So, it is advisable to always wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even when it’s cloudy.

Here are a few benefits of Sunscreen:

  • It helps in protecting your skin from UV rays which are responsible for cell damage and further causing DNA mutation often leading to cancer.
  • Excessive exposure to UV rays leads to redness and often ends up peeling your skin. Well, this can be saved by wearing sunscreen.
  • Sunscreen saves your skin from UV rays which are the main reason for skin cancer.
  • It prevents premature ageing and delays the occurrence of wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Spending too much time in the sun can also cause hyperpigmentation, which is a condition where patches of skin become darker than the surrounding skin.
  • It also prevents Melasma, which is a condition where brown or grey patches appear on the skin, usually on the face.

Hopefully, the above information will help you in having an easy and doable skincare routine. On the internet, you would find various articles with a 7-8 step routine which is often difficult to follow. So I covered the essential steps that must be followed.
